The first finding of sockeye salmon Oncorhynchus nerka (Walbaum) in the Bolshaya River on Zavyalov Island

چکیده
The sockey salmon entry to the Bolshaya River on Zavyalov Island in northern Okhotsk Sea was registered for first time July 26, 2021. Larger specimens were observed among pink going spawn this river, and one of them caught by a brown bear at distance 300 m from river mouth. It female sockeye Oncorhynchus nerka (Walbaum, 1792); data its size weight are presented.

Density-Dependent Growth in Juvenile Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus Nerka)
Data gathered over 77 lake-years from 4 coastal British Columbia sockeye salmon nursery lakes suggest that density-dependent growth reductions are only possible at exceptionally high fry densities. In Great Central Lake (n=33 years) and Sproat Lakes (n=30 years) there was no relationship between smolt weight and mean summer fry densities ranging from 760-3800 fry ha -1 . However, in two years w...
متن کاملRecent Ecological Divergence despite Migration in Sockeye Salmon (oncorhynchus Nerka)
Ecological divergence may result when populations experience different selection regimes, but there is considerable discussion about the role of migration at the beginning stages of divergence before reproductive isolating mechanisms have evolved. However, detection of past migration is difficult in current populations and tools to differentiate genetic similarities due to migration versus rece...
متن کاملIonoregulatory changes in different populations of maturing sockeye salmon Oncorhynchus nerka during ocean and river migration.
We present the first data on changes in ionoregulatory physiology of maturing, migratory adult sockeye salmon Oncorhynchus nerka. Fraser River sockeye were intercepted in the ocean as far away as the Queen Charlotte Islands (approximately 850 km from the Fraser River) and during freshwater migration to the spawning grounds; for some populations this was a distance of over 700 km. Sockeye migrat...
متن کاملRoutine and active metabolic rates of migrating adult wild sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka Walbaum) in seawater and freshwater.
We present the first data on the differences in routine and active metabolic rates for sexually maturing migratory adult sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) that were intercepted in the ocean and then held in either seawater or freshwater. Routine and active oxygen uptake rates (MO2) were significantly higher (27%-72%) in seawater than in freshwater at all swimming speeds except those approachi...
متن کاملThe ontogeny of ultraviolet sensitivity, cone disappearance and regeneration in the sockeye salmon Oncorhynchus nerka.
This study examines the spectral sensitivity and cone topography of the sockeye salmon Oncorhynchus nerka throughout its life history with special emphasis on ultraviolet sensitivity. Electrophysiological recordings from the optic nerve show that ultraviolet sensitivity is greatly diminished at the smolt stage but reappears in adult fish weighing about 201 g. Concomitantly, light microscopy obs...
